1. Essential

2. Secondary (give at least one example for each group)

PART 1: Who’s Got a Dollar?
•  Demo
•  Silent Reflection

1. Would you volunteer your money - that is, take risk?
In that instance yes because I felt that I would get my money back at the end.
2. How did you feel?
I had to trust that at the end of the exercise every one would give the money back.
3. Did you feel a little sheepish?
Not really i was willing to help out strait away.
4. What about when the ante was upped to ten dollars?
I was wondering what the point was but still was willing to hand over the money. I had trust in the people around me.
5. Twenty?
I was a bit hesitant because I had given away money at the start.
6. Did you think the volunteers were foolish?
In some aspects yes they did not really ask any question they did as they were told. But I think the reason why is because every one had trust in each other.

INSPIRE with examples
NEVER forget to repeat yourself

QUIZ:
1. What is the major benefit of saving time?
You get to spend time doing other things. More things.

2. How do designers integrate time into their products?
Making the decisions for the client/ users.

3. Explain the relationship between making waiting shorter with making waiting more
tolerable
You can see the progress so you know how much time you have to wait. Making waiting tolerable is to make the time more pleasant keeping the mind of the waiting. eg a game that come up so you can play it while the web page you want loads.
Music playing in an elevator music makes the time waiting more tolerable.

4. How can you use your timeline to increase your own efficiency as a designer?
Set up deadlines that need to be met. Allow sufficient time that the job requires.

5. Briefly outline an event or activity in which you are adept at time saving?
In the morning while others are using the bath room I do all the other jobs that i have to do. I have a routine, Hang the washing, eat breakfast, clean teeth, have a shower. This is the best order to use the time in the morning.

6. What part of your design process do you need to improve at, in terms of saving time?
Don't waste time doing the unimportant things.

POINT:
Develop a list of words or phrases that describe last year’s logo
Getting to the point.
A point in time.
Pointing to some thing. Showing direction.
Drawing attention to some thing.
Sharp
The top.
Getting to the TOP.

What does the graphic represents.
  • The dots symbolize Dot points in a document. Drawing attention to the information. Simplified into the most important information.
  • The shape that the group of the dots make up an arrow point. The way that the dots fade in from the side gives the impression that its all coming to a finishing point. Representing the end of the year or for some the end of study.
  • Also shows direction and moving forward into to the future. The next step in our journey.
Its a pretty basic design but I think that it gets the message across. It does not muck around and gets straight to the point. The only thing that it does not do is draw attention to the poster, It does not cause interest and excitement. The thing that it does do well is cover a broad area of study with out focusing solely on any one area.
Which I am having trouble trying to please every one with the Name, Theme and Branding of our Exhibition.

4 THINKING GAME

IGNITE: Cause arousal, Stir something within, Give inspiration, Cause interest, set something off

SOMETHING TO REMEMBER: Remember the journey from start of education to the finish. Remember everything. Lasting impressions. Something to get famous by, something to be remembered by.

THE END OF ONE THING IS THE START OF ANOTHER: After following the path to the end. It does not stop, It only fades into a new beginning.

W03 ORGINATION

Theme and Branding for exhibition:

THEME:
  • Simple, Sharp and Clean
  • Exciting
  • Professional
  • Modern
  • Creative

Examples of Exhibition posters. This is the sort of quality that Im looking for. We need to promote the quality of work that is on offer from the CDU students.

For the designs of the posters I was thinking that we could incorporate a number of images from all design areas into one.

I have spoken to some of the architecture students and have got some good ideas from them and what they would like to see in the Branding. Something clean and has to be broad to cover all areas of design. Maybe something to do with evolving and adapting. The poster should all have a similar basic outlay. Which means all the information will be the same and in the same positions.

A cool idea that i like is at the bottom of the poster if we have the names of the areas of study area in a row.

E.G. ARCHITECTURE + MUSIC + GRAPHIC DESIGN + MULTIMEDIA + FINE ARTS

This poster would have a graphic design image on it. This would be done for each area and the relevant image would be shown.

This video is an example that the exhibition does not all have to be held indoors. The video is of an exhibition in London called the cans festival. It is an exhibition of stencil and street artist in London. Some big names like Banksy and Ron English. These are two of London's most famous street artist. The video also may give some ideas for the documentary that will be made of our exhibition.

Google Docs

PROS:
  1. They are available to be view and edited any where you go that has an internet connection and a computer.
  2. It is easy to share with a large number of people.
  3. All people that you share with have privileges to make changes and edit the documents.
CONS:
  1. Allowing so many people to edit the document it could end up messy and not make sense.
  2. If the internet is down then you can not access them.
  3. Document can be viewed by people that you do not want to see them.
