How can you apply the notion of reduce to your own design process? (give a
specific example)
Any thing that is not really needed and does not serve a purpose should be removed to make room for the things that are. Simple great work as compared to Large average work. Create something that is of a high quality and for fills the needs of what the product is made for. A logo that i have created i have simplified the image to only show the important elements that need to be viewed. By removing all other complication the image has become of better quality and represents the product and business in a much clearer way.

From what you have read in Chapter 1, explain the relationship between complexity and simplicity (give 3 specific examples from the book OR your own
experiences)

PRINTERS/ PRINTING
PROS:
- The quality of printing will be far greater than what we are capable of.
- They will also have a larger rang of materials and products that can be printed on or designed.
- The cost will be substantial as we will be paying for a high quality product.
- Wont get the hands on knowledge of the printing process, that we would have got if we printed it our selves.
PROS:
- Held on the ground of the uni, invites every one in to look at the great work that is being produced at uni. Promotes the University.
- Wont have to transport and move equipment and content to another location. Save on costs.
- Will the campus be available for the time that we need.
- Will there be enough room for all areas of design to display there works.
PROS:
- More money to put on a bigger and better quality show.
- They may help with the donation of products instead.
- May want to much in return, something that we can not offer them or guarantee.
- They may be disappointed in the end product not up to their standards.
Good work so far, but maybe expand a tad more. For example when explaining an acronym, state the word represented by the letter - then explain what the word means in context.
ReplyDeleteQUESTION 3 is answered well partly, but no specific example is given.
Q4 is not answered yet, so I figure you are getting back to this. Excellent to see you are getting on the case right away though. I figure it has to be easier to do the blogging right after class when the ideas are fresh. Then you can tweak it in a day or two when you've had time to reflect. Go Jarrod!
Jarrod - homework for week 02 was "In your blog - discuss 2 pros and 2 cons in relation to any 3 group perspectives from Week 01 in the SHARE folder
ReplyDelete" - could you update your blog with answers to this?
Update done - thanks
